Black Ivory is one of very few venues in Paignton — and one of the only ones in Torbay — set up to do live music, full bar service and proper food in a single private-hire booking. Whether it's a milestone birthday, an anniversary, a corporate evening or a small wedding reception, you take the whole room and we build the night around you.

The whole bar to yourselves. No sharing the room with walk-ins. The entire space — piano, bar, seating — is yours for the evening.
Most private hires include our resident pianist for the evening. We can also arrange a guest performer — jazz trio, vocalist, full band — depending on the occasion.
Our entire gin list, cocktail menu, wine list and beer selection. Open bar, drinks tab, or pay-as-you-go — whichever works for the evening.
Canapé packages, sharing plate menus, or small-plate buffet for stand-up events. Bespoke menus on request for special occasions.
Lighting, layout, decoration. Tell us the occasion and we'll handle the room. Special requests — a particular song, a cake stand, a cocktail named for the evening — usually doable.
