Black Ivory isn't quite a restaurant — it's a piano bar that feeds you properly. We're one of the more interesting places to eat in Paignton if you want real food alongside a serious drinks list, rather than a separate trip for each. The food is built around the bar, not the other way around. Light bites and small plates that pair with cocktails, gin, or whatever's open by the glass.
If you're looking for where to eat in Paignton before or instead of dinner — somewhere that takes its food seriously without making a fuss about it — you're in the right place. Among Paignton restaurants, we're the only one where the kitchen and the live piano are in the same room.

More gins than you'd expect from a town this size — the most extensive gin list of any bar in Paignton, and one of the better ones in Devon. Ask the bar if you want something specific; there's usually more behind the counter than on the page.
Belgian craft gin with three flavour waves: bright citrus, earthy cardamom, and a rare Himalayan Timut pepper finish. Distilled in small batches and almost impossible to find in Devon. We stock it because it deserves to be here.
